A wonderful early 1900s Arts and Crafts period ebonised oak wood bobbin turned low armchair.

With a rush seat in excellent condition, and unusual wings to the top of the back, and a front stretcher all in bobbin form.

Bobbin turned furniture first appeared in the 17th century and returned renewed with less exaggerated forms in cottage furniture in the 19th century, into the early 20th.

Though overall the chair is tall, the seat is low. Measurements are as follows:

100cm tall at the back X 58cm at its widest to the outsides of the arms. The seat is 27.5cm in height. It is 52cm wide at the front and 41cm deep.
