c.1950s Smith’s midcentury English green alarm clock
A fantastic looking Smith’s alarm clock dating from around the 1950s in full working order.
In the most wonderful shade of green, this wind up alarm clock was made in England by Smith’s, one of the best known and well regarded clock makers of the last century.
It has been tested on one wind and ran for over 30 hours so this would have a ’30 hour movement’. The idea with these movements is to wind them every day (at about the same time so it’s easier not to forget!) but the additional few hours gives some leeway.
The second hand is on a separate dial within the face.
There is a speed adjuster if it’s running fast or slow.
The easily accessed button to the top of the clock turns off the alarm.
This is a great looking pale green clock with its stylish gold Art Deco numerals, chapter ring and face surround.
A stylish little working gem of a timepiece by a renowned English mid century clock maker.
This clock measures 12.5cm tall X 14cm wide x 4.5cm deep.
