Antique 19th century jug by David Methven & Sons, Scotland

A very elegant blue and white floral 19th century ceramic jug by David Methven & Sons of Kilcaldy, Scotland.

In the Berry pattern, berries featuring on the lower band of decoration, with small landscape vignettes above and a floral design to the top.

There is some damage inside the jug, as shown in photos, but the exterior is in excellent condition free of damage.

The pitcher has a wonderful shape and an ornately formed handle.

It will make great décor for atop a chest of drawers, or a shelf, perhaps with a dried stem or a few.

18.5cm tall X 12cm diameter at the base, 9.5cm X 8cm at the top.
