A wonderfully sculptued 19th century terracotta bust
Signed to the reverse, believed to be a French name which is not easy to read carved in.
The deep features are superbly modelled and this is an impressive, disarming statement piece.
He seems to look different from every different angle, the darker, dusty crevices give this additional depth.
There’s is a small chip to the right edge of the hat.
